My Roles
Act 1- Floor Manager
For the first  act during the morning  I took on the role of floor manager as i had carried out this role before. In previous sessions I wasn't to confident at carrying out this role but practicing the role several times throughout the rehearsals at fielden park campus,i feel that i have gained confidence within this position. However as I had carried out this role previously in other sessions i could now easily identify hazards without a tutor pointing out the faults such as wires not being covered up on the floor, clutter in the path or where we were working, intruments and amplifiers that could be stored away.
As the floor manager any body that walks into the room where you are working or who is a guest needs to be greeted and welcomed into the room. When the sound operators arrived for the live show  i greeted them and welcomed them into the room. I then allocated a group of people who were not carrying out any tasks on the floor to make a space so that they could set up and work in an area.
From the previous sessions I noted that as floor manager you have to be loud and direct with people. As I have carried out the role in the previous sessions I think that i have gained confidence and did well to be direct with my peers to get them organized on the floor. However to do this i had to multi-task, as i was in constant contact with the director i had to communicate with him to correct any problems he was seeing through the cameras. I also so had to deal with any problems people had on the floor. If i saw a hazard i had to allocate someone to make sure the hazard was safe or moved out of the way in a safe place. As floor manager I think I did quite well at organizing my peers and dealing with any problems they may have had setting up. I think the floor manager role is a role I would like to work on in the future.

Act 4- Sound Operator
For the fourth act of the day I was working on the sound desk. I took on the role as sound operator because this was also a role i didn't feel to comfortable doing previously i wanted to try it again. As the sound levels were already set from previous takes all i had to do was keep the sounds levels to a reasonable level throughout the take to get a clear steady sound. I think i managed to keep the levels a reasonable level throughout this take as have learnt previously in the rehearsal sessions not to let the levels go to high otherwise you get distorted and loud sounds.
